The Bedford Fire Department in Bedford Village is comprised of dedicated Volunteers responding to about 500 alarms a year. They maintain and operate several pieces of apparatus including some specialized items to provide emergency assistance and care to our neighbors and friends in their times of need.

The Bedford Fire Department’s mission is to protect life and property through Fire Prevention, Suppression, Emergency Medical, Hazardous Materials and other emergency services within the Bedford Fire District in the most effective, professional and efficient manner possible.

The Bedford Fire Department has been serving the Village of Bedford since 1923. The Bedford Fire Department provides both fire fighting and emergency medical services to the Bedford Fire District. The Fire Department is manned exclusively by unpaid volunteers. Our members are certified by the State of New York in both Fire Fighting (FF1A or FF1B) and Emergency Medicine (EMT).
