bio
The Bedford Historical Society is a non-profit, educational institution. In addition to operating and maintaining these historic lands and buildings, we open our two museums to the public from May to November with the help of our devoted volunteers. The Society also sponsors community lectures, educational tours, an Antique Show, an Art Show that promotes local artists as well as a House Restoration Show. We work to preserve and collect our local historic treasures and to provide educational information to those studying local history.

The objectives of the Society, as stated in the Certificate of Incorporation, are: "To discover, locate and preserve places and buildings of historical and antiquarian interest within the Town of Bedford, to discover, procure and preserve objects of like interest and whatever may relate to the natural, literary and civil history of the said Town, to establish and maintain collections of such Objects, to erect and maintain historical monuments, tablets and boundaries, to stimulate and encourage interest in such work and to further all efforts looking towards the accomplishment of the afore-said purposes or either of them."

“The history and beauty of Bedford is unique to our country. Anyone living here understands it and understands how fortunate they really are.”
-Shirley Bianco, President
