The BRLA maintains and preserves over 150 miles of equestrian and walking trails in Bedford, Bedford Hills, Katonah and Pound Ridge. We are a not-for-profit organization, also known as a 501-C3. That means that contributions to the BRLA are tax deductible. Membership is open to everyone at the Junior, Single, Supporting and Family levels. In order to use the trails, you must become a member of the BRLA and carry a membership tag. Our trails are mostly on private property. Many of these trails have been in existence for almost 100 years. Trails are marked with yellow and black arrows, which are visible from many of the roads around Bedford.

Every year, we hold a Trail Cleanup Day, when hundreds of volunteers walk the trails to remove fallen branches, rock and other debris. This year, Trail Cleanup was held on April 30.

We also hold two big events each year: our Fall and Spring Paces. Over 300 riders turn out for these events, which have been held for 20 years at the John Jay Homestead in Katonah. This year, the paces will be held on May 30 and September 11 respectively.

“What I love about Bedford is the riding trails! It is a horseman's paradise, with 150 linear miles of trails and dirt roads, letting me ride through the woods, streams, and fields. I love how residents have allowed horses to traverse their properties for 100 years, making the Bedford Riding Lanes the best equestrian trail network in the North East. What we have is extremely unique, and I never get tired of riding these trails.”
-Caroll Bancel, Vice President
