Founded in 1680, Bedford covers over 39 square miles and encompasses three distinct hamlets, Katonah, Bedford Hills and Bedford Village. Bedford is the home of the Katonah Museum of Art, the John Jay Homestead and Caramoor Center for arts and music. There are ten nature sanctuaries, over 100 miles of riding trails and three town parks, three fire departments and three public libraries. Lee V.A. Roberts was elected councilwoman in 1994. In 1998 she was appointed deputy Supervisor and in 2003 was elected Supervisor of Bedford. Town Supervisor Roberts currently serves as Chair of the Northern Westchester Watershed Committee and as an Executive Committee member of the Westchester Municipal Officials Association.
