quote
“Bedford has an unsurpassed natural beauty and residents who are deeply committed to maintaining the character of our community. Founded in 1680, Bedford covers over 39 square miles and encompasses three distinct hamlets, Katonah, Bedford Hills and Bedford Village. Bedford is the home of the Katonah Museum of Art, the John Jay Homestead and Caramoor Center for arts and music. There are ten nature sanctuaries, over 100 miles of riding trails and three town parks, three fire departments and three public libraries. We are proud of our 32 miles of dirt roads and the beautiful stone walls that enhance the rural character of our town. In addition, Bedford has over 65 not-for-profit organizations which contribute to the vibrancy and diversity of our community. The beautiful Bedford Oak is the symbol of our town and is thought to be over 500 years old.”
