We’re two sisters who care deeply about people and the environment.
That’s why at Vles & Company you won’t find paraffin
candles. Paraffin costs less than soy but their emissions are harmful
to you and the environment. Our body products are all natural and scented
with essential oils.
We carry sustainably harvested and fast growing fibers
such as bamboo and hemp. Some of our cards are made of kenaf, a fast
growing grass; others are made of recycled paper and are chlorine free.
Many of our items are made of recycled materials. Our
glasses are made either of recycled glass that has been melted down
and transformed or they’re made of recycled wine bottles. We carry
recycled rubber mats for your pet, reclaimed wood picture frames, chalkboards
and specialty signs.
We offer organic, shade grown, free trade certified coffee.
This coffee is not only delicious, it helps to save rain forests. No
tree needs to be cut and no fertilizer or pesticides need to be added.
By providing indigenous people with jobs, there is no longer incentive
for farmers to clear cut the rainforests to grow cash crops. Minimal
impact on the earth while creating jobs for people -- what a concept.
We endeavor to support American-made and Canadian-made
(we are originally from Canada) whenever we can. Our jewelry is predominantly
locally designed and made, as are the wonderful photographs we display.
We are proud of the creative artists who live in and around Bedford.
